Pirate Palooza, Two Week Session: Saturday

We started our day by saying farewell to our one-week Week One campers. It was a delight having them all at camp and becoming friends. We can’t wait to see them again! After departure our Pirate-themed two week campers prepared for an overnight in Hawthorne, one of the traditional tent units at Camp Timbercrest, by setting up their tents and making their beds.

After settling into their new home for the night campers had a floating lunch on the idyllic Keyser Lake. What they didn’t know was that this was a precursor to their dinner… you see although the floating lunch seemed to go well, we found some boats “washed ashore” that our “shipwrecked” pirates ate their dinner in — with unusual utensils, for added camp chaos.

There was also a pirate-themed cupcake decorating contest, archery practice, a campfire with s’mores and a glow party. As you can see there was no end to camp fun for these campers.

If you’ve been following along, you might have noticed that we are having a bit of trouble with our photos — we’ve been taking so many that the super-slow-middle-of-the-woods internet can’t quite keep up. We ask for your patience while we (slowly) get the backlog of photos uploaded! We will make sure to update blog posts with the links to the photos as they are available!
