Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
The rich hues of green could be found all throughout camp. We had a wee bit of luck today as the storms held off for a good portion of the day to allow our campers to enjoy many activities of camp. Our artist ventured out on a nature walk to capture the beauty that surrounded them with their drawings and leaf rubbings. Our budding chefs cooked up some creativity in drama class for what is gearing up to be a spectacular show for Friday’s Follies (weekly camp talent show). Many campers even tried their luck at archery today with one camper getting their first bullseye!
Songs were sang in merriment throughout the day. CIT’s enjoying time meditating and using mindful techniques in appreciation of the nature that surrounds them. While there were moments of soft strumming of the guitar that allowed for relaxation after a yummy dinner of Irish Nachos (loaded potato coins).
Campers went on a clover hunt and were visited by a dancing leprechaun straight from Ireland! She danced, she played and was caught numerous times trying to grab shiny gold objects by our very clever and creative camper’s Leprechaun Traps.
As the night came to a close the campers retreated to their cabents for a good night’s rest while falling asleep to Echo’s story hour.
“May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rain fall soft upon your fields until we meet again” may all your camping stories be shared with joy and laughter.
